The list below is provided to you in finding a private contractor to install the recommended measures in your home.  The contractors on this list have stated that they handle equipment and materials that meet the specifications for the financing plan.  The fact that a contractor is on the list does not mean that Hopkinsville Electric System or TVA warrants or guarantees his work in any way.
   
    TIPS ON CHOOSING A CONTRACTOR

• We suggest you contact several contractors to give you an estimate.  Each estimate should average close to the same price.  If an estimate is significantly higher or lower than the rest, ask the contractor to explain the difference.  When evaluating your estimates, please notify us if an item is not within reasonable range.  There is a point at which cost effectiveness is lost.

• ASK THE CONTRACTOR to give you the name of a person(s) who has used the contractor for installing similar work under the Program.

• ASK THE CONTRACTOR to show you sample materials to be installed if you are not familiar with their quality.

• ASK THE CONTRACTOR for a heating and cooling load calculation for the equipment he is proposing to install.
