Despite the hardships caused by last week's ice storm, we learned once again, how a disaster can bring people together," HES General Manger Austin Carroll comments. "And there have been many cases of strangers helping strangers, neighbors helping neighbors and of our customers helping us."
Carroll further says, "To each of you, we offer our sincere thank you for your patience, your understanding, your notes of encouragement, meals, brownies, cookies, cupcakes, coffee, water and other comforts." HES wants to also express appreciation to all those who helped coordinate recovery efforts: the local news media, Emergency Communications Center, HWEA, local restaurants and hotels, American Red Cross, Police and other City/County Departments, the HES/EnergyNet employees who worked bravely around the clock under stressful conditions to get the power back on. Also we thank the support crews who assisted in restoring power to our impacted area from Fort Loudoun (TN) Electric Cooperative, Bolivar (TN) Utilities and Groves Construction.
Hopkinsville Electric System/EnergyNet pledges to continue to serve you reliable and safe electric and telecommunications services. "Working together we will always get the done," concludes Carroll.
