  • HES Electric Rate Adjustment

    Thumbnail Placeholder

Effective October 1, 2020, Hopkinsville Electric System (HES) will make changes to our electric rates. However, these changes will be revenue neutral, meaning our customers will not see an increase in their bills assuming they use the same amount of energy as last year. HES is adjusting the customer charges while reducing the energy rates to improve our fixed cost recovery and reduce subsidies in retail rates.

HES operates on only 25% of the electric revenue we receive from our customers, with the remaining portion going to Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to pay our wholesale electric bill. As your hometown, not-for-profit electric utility for the past 78 years, HES has been continually committed to maintaining some of the lowest electric rates within the seven state TVA service region, while still providing safe and reliable service.

HES electric rate schedules can be found on our website at www.hop-electric.com or by calling 270-887-4200.

    Thumbnail Placeholder

Hopkinsville Electric System/energynet and TVA are now offering local businesses a cash incentive to install Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) in the business’ HVAC duct system. UVGI technology has been in use for over 90 years as a way to kill bacteria and viruses. Installing UVGI at your business is an excellent way to protect your employees and your customers. HES and TVA are now offering a $30 per ton incentive payment to businesses that install UVGI technology in the supply ducting of their HVAC system(s). To learn more about UVGI and how to apply for the incentive, click here.
