HES is under the leadership of its fourth General Manager, Jeff Hurd, P.E.  The electric utility is governed by a 5-member board appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Hopkinsville city council. Four board members are “at large” board members (citizens of the city) and each serves a four year term. The final board member is a member of the Hopkinsville City Council and serves a one year term.

The HES board meets the last Tuesday of each month at the HES administrative office at 1820 E. 9th Street at 4:00 P.M. unless scheduling conflicts require a change. The board meetings are open to the public. To confirm the date and time of a board meeting, contact the HES office at 887-4210.
