Hopkinsville Electric System is pleased to announce the introduction of an electric service outage map & reporting system. With the introduction of the new electric outage system, HES customers can now learn about planned outages, report an outage, check the status of their outage, and get periodic updates about any reported outages.
“We’ve invested in this technology so that customers can see real-time what’s going on if their electric service is interrupted. In the past, outages were being worked on without customers always knowing. Now with this communication tool, customers will be better informed as we work to restore electric service,” says Jeff Hurd, General Manager of Hopkinsville Electric System & energynet.
“Power outages can happen when severe weather, accidents, or other events outside our control damage equipment or disrupt service. We work hard to restore power as quickly as possible. Now without having to even pick up the phone, customers will be able to see the status of their electric service no matter where they are,” says Dustin Love, Engineering Manager of Hopkinsville Electric System & energynet.
The HES Outage Map can be found at https://www.hometowngrid.com/hes. Features of the system include:
• Calling or texting 877-564-7250 to report outages.
• An online map that shows whether an outage is already known.
• The cause (once known) and status of an outage.
• Two-way communication with updates on the status of the outage.
• Planned outage notifications direct to impacted customers.
• The ability to report non-outage concerns like downed branches or streetlight outages.
