Before Hopkinsville Electric System (HES) will connect a new electrical service, the site must be inspected by a Kentucky-certified electrical inspector. Upon a successful inspection, a Certificate of Compliance will be issued by the electrical inspector. It is the responsibility of the builder/contractor to provide a copy of this Certificate of Compliance to HES before HES will begin construction of the new electrical service. HES will not be responsible for obtaining a copy of any applicable permits. Hopkinsville/Christian County will ensure that the necessary permits have been obtained prior to issuing the Certificate of Compliance.
All questions regarding inspection fees and schedules, or the status of the inspection, should be directed to the appropriate contact person. HES is not involved in the inspection process and cannot answer questions regarding the status of an inspection.
HES reserves the right to waive the need for an electrical inspection at the discretion of the Engineering and Operations departments.
