The 2023 HES/energynet Photo contest was a huge success! Forty-eight local photographers entered 220 photographs. The images were a great representation of Hopkinsville and Christian county. The quality and quantity of images made it difficult to narrow down the choices for the images to be awarded prize money and also for the images to be selected to be featured in the 2024 HES/energynet calendar.
Winning first place and a prize of $300 was an amazingly colorful sunset photo taken by Yvette Holmes. Second place, and $200, was won by Chad Fuller for a gorgeous fall photo of Kentucky. And third place, and $100, was won by Jason Jones for a photo reminding us of the ultimate sacrifice made by members of our military.
The 2024 HES/energynet calendar is now in production and should be mailed late in December. Once you have received your calendar, HES typically has a limited quantity of extra calendars available at the customer service desk.
A big thanks to all who participated in the 2023 HES/energynet Photo Contest. The HES/energynet Photo Contest is an annual contest, so check our website and Facebook page in late summer for photo contest announcements. As a reminder, the primary objective of the photo contest is to collect high quality images that show Hopkinsville and Christian county for the annual HES/energynet calendar. Future contests will award prize money and images from the contest will be featured in future HES/energynet calendars. So keep taking those pictures throughout the year and stay tuned for the announcement for the 2024 HES/energynet Photo Contest.
